My approach for this began with simply approximating the color fringing that come from chromatic aberration. Chromatic aberration occurs in photogtaphy, when light gets misaligned through the lens, causing color fringing on edges. I first began by simply misaligning color channels, then I moved to moving the channels around on a per pixel basis, in the end I found a process that not only moves the channels on a per pixel basis, but does so in an ordered fashion.
